The Aquabion S20 is a salt-free water conditioner that uses a sacrificial zinc anode to prevent limescale buildup in water systems by converting hard water minerals into a soft, non-adherent crystal called aragonite. It is designed for domestic use, offering maintenance-free limescale protection for approximately seven years, saving energy by improving heating efficiency and prolonging appliance lifespan. How it Works
Galvanic Reaction: The S20 uses a naturally occurring galvanic reaction.
Zinc Sacrificial Anodes: The unit's zinc anodes corrode over time, releasing zinc ions into the water.
Aragonite Formation: These zinc ions react with the calcium and other minerals in hard water, forming soft, non-aggressive aragonite crystals.
Preventing Limescale: The aragonite prevents the calcium from forming hard, sticky limescale deposits, keeping pipes and appliances clean.
